At least you don’t have to spend $200 on a Stem player to get your hands on Black Star’s second album. And hey, with 24 years between recordings, no one can blame these two for being on No Fear of Time, unlike other projects. After years of unsuccessful attempts to gain membership with the release of exclusive albums, Black Star’s latest album arrives at Luminary of All Locations.
The app entered the market two years ago with huge funding and the goal of becoming a Netflix podcaster. The debut was met with a “Podcasts Don’t Require Ads” message from some of the biggest names in the industry. As a result, it was launched without some of the biggest names in the industry.
Like Netflix before it, Luminary has continued with original content and signed names like Trevor Noah, Roxanne Gay and Russell Brand. Coincidentally, Black Star’s Yassin Bay and Talib Kweli co-host the Midnight Miracle show on the podcast network with Dave Chappelle (weird coincidence, I get it). which will provide additional material before the release of the album.
The duo’s first album “Mos Def und Talib Kweli Are Black Star” became a true hip hop classic when it was released in 1998. Gondry directed the Block Party documentary, but the second album ended up being more elusive than Chinese Democracy. But, unlike that album, the latest Black Star is produced by Madlib, not Axl Rose, which clearly speaks in their favor.
“About 3-4 years ago I was visiting Yasin in Europe and we started talking about the songs we should put on the album, so I brought in an engineer to see what it would be like,” Kweli says of the new album . When I realized that this conversation was turning into a constructive one, I began to make sure that the engineer was always there. There was a day when we were listening to Madlib’s beats in the hotel and he said, “Play that Madlib record again.” I play beats and he starts rhyming beats. And so we recorded the first song. ,
“No Fear of Time” will be released exclusively on Luminary on May 3rd.
