Lasting, owned by mobile therapy company TalkSpace, has launched a new parenting app. The app, titled The Lasting Parent’s Guide, is designed to help parents gain confidence in their parenting approach. The company says the app gives parents and caregivers access to resources to raise healthy and resilient children. The app offers self-guided activities and live lessons, as well as tools to help parents teach their kids to control their emotions.
The app offers over 100 weekly self-paced and live therapist-led sessions on topics such as secure attachment, self-awareness, discipline, child anxiety, whining and complaining, listening to children, strong-willed children, and sibling relationships. text. It also contains over 30 mental health cues designed to help parents practice self-care and emotional regulation. In addition, the app has a section where parents can record their thoughts and answer questions on specific topics.
It also includes features for parenting partners, such as a collaborative Q&A section that sparks discussion about parenting approaches. For example, you and your partner can answer a series of questions to find out how the other person feels about their upbringing. If you and your partner disagree on something, the app will ask you to work it out together. You can also see how many sessions your partner has completed.
Lasting says more than 4,000 families completed the parenting program during the beta, 79% of whom said the app helped them parent more effectively.
“Today’s parents do an incredibly difficult job,” Steven Dzik, founder of Talkspace and senior vice president of Lasting, said in a statement. “Before, children were brought up by a whole community, but now many parents do everything themselves. After listening to our clients, we’ve learned that American families most need help with parenting issues such as anxiety, sibling conflict, and emotional coaching, which is why we’ve created an app to help them.-Applies the right mental approach.
