Ahead of its official debut on April 19, Mercedes-Benz shared a first look at the interior of the 2023 EQS SUV. As you can see from the photos provided by the automaker, Mercedes hasn’t changed its interior design language. As before, the most eye-catching feature is the optional 56-inch MBUX hyperscreen that extends across the entire front cockpit of the vehicle. It includes a 12.3-inch OLED screen that allows the front passenger to view video content while the vehicle is in motion. If the built-in camera detects that the driver has caught a glimpse of the screen, the screen will automatically dim to help the driver focus on the road again.

The interior of the salon is made of wood and leather, which creates the atmosphere of a “living room”. Mercedes allows customers to customize the interior in seven different color combinations. It also offers optional third-row seats and power second-row seats, allowing the EQS SUV to seat up to seven people. Other notable features include a Dolby Atmos sound system and an air filtration system with a HEPA filter that keeps pollen and dust out of the cabin.

Mercedes also announced today that it will manufacture batteries for its EQS SUVs (and EQE SUVs) at its newly opened battery plant in Bibb County, Alabama, which will create 600 jobs. The company will assemble the vehicle at its longtime facility in Tuscaloosa, outside of Alabama.
