I would like to Man iPhone SE. Since its relaunch in 2020, the entry-level iPhone has gone from a nod to a relic-era format, becoming a prime example of a “just what it should be and nothing” smartphone.

While Apple has kept the smaller 4.7-inch screen and Touch ID authentication system, it has aggressively enlarged the inside of the SE models, making them incredibly performant for the dollar. The 2022 model is powered by the A15 Bionic chip. Works on your top iPhone 13 ProI think this core is not part of the iPhone from a computational point of view.

Here’s an approach instead of cutting back on tech in the performance department – the Retina HD display looks good, but any iPhone 13 Pro user will immediately notice Apple’s 120Hz ProMotion display – and the lack of a camera. Instead of a triple camera system, you get a single rear camera with a powerful but comparable 12MP wide-angle lens. We were all used to it before the multi-camera smartphone race began with the iPhone 8 Plus.

You won’t find LiDAR, ultra-wide or telephoto, cinematic mode, or Dolby Vision for night mode. What you get is a simple camera that captures some of the best smartphone images. While Wide on this iPhone SE is functionally identical to the 2020 version, you get the enhancements provided by the A15’s ISP and Neural Engine, including better low-light performance, improved HDR, portrait mode for photographic style, Portrait Lighting, and Deep Fusion. . Of which, the SE’s 7MP front camera has many innovations.

It’s a pretty solid camera, especially for those who see the iPhone as their most useful memory-creation tool, rather than a photographic tool. The lack of a night mode when taking photos is probably the biggest downside to what is otherwise a perfectly serviceable little camera system.

While images of daylight or a well-lit interior will look the same to the average user, your ability to take photos without a flash doesn’t compare to the incredible multi-lens Night mode capabilities of the iPhone 13 series.

As far as I know, Apple did not limit the performance of the A15, at least not from a test or practical point of view. This phone feels as fast as the iPhone 13 for any daily driver activity.

The body is also thin and light, which is no longer the case for high-end phones. All of them are like jewels in their density, sharp edges and texture. iPhone SE is a smooth, sandblasted round glass tablet. It is very pleasant to hold and use, and does not require much from you. It is meant to serve and disappear, not to be present.

The issues I’m having with Touch ID are still changing the way I interact with my phone My review of the 2020 SE.I just love the intuitive swipe mechanics and the paradigm I’ve achieved after years of using only the best iPhones. I know a lot of people don’t care and are fine with wrong button press and thumb authentication. This is a compromise between two good options, not between “good” and “terrible”.

At $429, it’s a slight price jump over the previous SE, but it’s still the most affordable iPhone in the lineup. You can buy cheap phones, but there are many factors to recommend the SE as the best budget option in the smartphone market. First, Apple gave this device the same powerful chip as its more expensive phones. Second, the company has shown a strong commitment to keeping its devices up to date with security, feature, and quality of life updates for nearly 5 years after release—an unusual trend in the industry as a whole. And thirdly, despite missing some high-end features, the design and materials used still feel very high quality.

As with the flying economy, I think people are used to treating them like dirt if they don’t pick the best price. The iPhone SE handles that rare situation where choosing an option that gets you from point A to point B doesn’t even mean you have to live with disrespect.

Using this phone for a few days, I would like to be an iPhone SE person. Unfortunately, I’m too impressed with the cutting-edge advances that high-end devices bring to screen and camera technology that are truly satisfied with anything but “the latest”. I fully admit that this is a by-product of my passion for photography and seeing how the edge of an envelope looks and feels. And this is my job.

If I were another person, just interested in owning a simple and functional phone, the iPhone SE Life would have a lot to recommend. If you’re a more experienced person whose life doesn’t revolve around technology like an electron revolves around a nucleus, this option might be for you.
