The company announced on Tuesday that Instagram will expand its product tagging capabilities to all US residents in the coming months. Prior to the expansion, only creators on Instagram could tag the company’s products in their posts. All US users can now tag famous brand products for shopping on Instagram. The company says this extension will make it easier for people to find products from people they follow and for companies to expand their audience on the platform.

Business owners get a notification when someone tags their product on Instagram. They can see all the tagged content on their profile in one place. Brands can also control who tags their products by managing their product tagging settings in their settings.

To tag a product in your post, you need to select a photo or video, add a caption, and then click Next. From there you can click “Tag Products” to search for a business and then find the products you want to tag and then add them to your posts. You can tag multiple products in one post.

“Do you have a new pair of earrings from your favorite small company? Tag the product in your feed so your friends and followers can learn more about the earrings and buy them,” gaming-updates said in an Instagram email. “People come to Instagram to share and learn about trends and inspiration. Product labeling allows anyone to support their favorite small business, talk about what they look like, what products they use, and more.

Instagram reports that an average of 1.6 million people tag at least one brand on the app each week. Over the years, the company has been working on optimizing the user experience in its app.

Last year, the company added a new feature to connect online shoppers to products in the app at the top of the Store tab, where consumers can search, view, and buy the latest product releases as well as upcoming releases. Shoppers can also sign up to be reminded of products of interest to them, as well as view products and collections from other releases that have recently taken place on Instagram.

In 2020, Instagram launched a new “Shop” tab with a new design. The Instagram Store is best described as a place to browse products from your favorite brands and creators. On the Store tab, you can filter products by categories such as beauty and home, and then pay directly in the app.
