“We’re making it easier to collaborate on email drafts in Docs with new email draft templates,” Google said in a blog post about the new feature. “You can mention people in the recipient field using the @ menu without having to remember their email addresses, and collaborate on the message body using comments and suggestions.”

This feature was first teased in February As well as Now rolling out to all Google Workspace customers, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers. Google didn’t mention availability for personal use, but gaming-updates reached out to the company for more information. It’s worth noting that Gmail features are often rolled out to G Suite customers before launching to consumers. For example, business customers gained access to Gmail’s deep integration with Chat, Meet, and Rooms before consumers arrived.

The new email draft template is useful when teams need to collaborate via email. While you can always copy and paste text from Google Docs and Gmail, this new integration makes it easier to use both products in one place and speeds things up.
